ExSoc and ZooSoc AGM

Come to the annual general meeting of the Exploration and Zoological Societies to have a say and/or try to get on any of the committees yourself!
Any society member can be put forward for committee roles, with exception to president who must be a previous committee member. On the day you must be nominated by another for a position and seconded before standing for election.
Even if you don’t want to be on committee come along and vote for your favourite candidates who you think have the necessary qualifications. The roles to be filled in a committee are:
has overall responsibility for the running of the club. Many of the duties are overseeing tasks of the other committee members. It is important that the president sets other committee members their tasks in good time and supports them where necessary. The president should endeavour to know as much as the happenings of every aspect of the club. The president will be responsible for arranging and chairing weekly talks by members of the wider zoological community.
VICE PRESIDENT (VP)
The vice president’s main duty is to assist the president in their aforementioned duties. This role is a key part in the club leadership and it is important that as with the president the VP keeps up to date with the happenings of the club.
The secretary keeps all records other than those kept by the treasurer. These include meeting minutes, memberships, contact details, etc.
Treasurer is in charge of the club account and holds all financial documents, the account book and cheque book. Treasurers must keep good records of all money in and out of the club. The treasurer should provide funds to the president when necessary, this may be in advance of spending the money or retrospectively. In either case receipts must be collected. The treasurer is responsible for collecting membership fees.
The publicity officer is responsible for advertising weekly meetings, the AGM and Extraordinary General Meetings allowing reasonable notice, times and locations.
Social convenors have the responsibility of providing refreshments after weekly meetings and organising social events.
The web convenor is responsible for all online aspects of the society.
Ordinary members provide general support to the committee positions and provide liaison for non-committee society members.
POSTGRAD AND VET MEMBERS
Postgrad and veterinary members provide a liaison with respective student bodies in terms of advertising events or collabrating on joint events.
